The Temperature Range
The temperature range 36.1°C with the coldest temperature being -16.4°C and the warmest temperature being 19.7°C.
The type of climate here in Winnipeg is continental climate, much like Toronto. It has cold winters and hot summers instead of something like maritime climate where it has not so cold winters and not so hot summers.
The places in colour are all the places that have continental climates.
What Factors Contribute To The Climate?
Being closer to the middle of the continents, not being directly next to bodies of water like oceans, and higher elevations are all factors that contribute to continental climate in Winnipeg.
Not being next to oceans or seas contribute because if you were closer to them you would have warmer winters or colder summers. Since Winnipeg isn't directly next to oceans or seas it has colder winters and warm hot summers.
Higher elevation is also an important factor because since it's closer up to the north it's farther away from the equator which explains why the winters are so cold and sometimes even devastating.

Severe Weather Conditions
In the past there have been other cases of severe weather such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, floods, and winter storms, but none of them were extremely dangerous to the point of taking lives. In the future these could continue to happen as the world is becoming less and less like it use to be where it had less natural disasters. |
Effects Of Climate Change
If climate change were to continue to get worse it could cause tons of natural disasters. As climate change becomes worse the chances of sea level rising (floods), and storms happening increases. If these natural disasters were to happen to the Winnipeg because of global warming it could be very bad for the region because a lot of farms will be destroyed and a lot of money will have to be spent to fix the land, which could hurt the Winnipeg economically.
