Ethnic Composition
Here in Winnipeg the most common first language is English. Although the most common language is English, the country is very diverse with languages ranging from French, to Scottish, and also Filipino. Some of the more popular languages other than English are Chinese, German, and Portuguese.
Future Possibilities
In the future assuming the migration continues to go at this rate it should be a positive thing for the cities. Right now there's a lot of English speaking people who come from European countries, but if more immigration happens with other countries it could be a great thing because it could make the cities more diverse and create a positive environment. However there could be racism problems due to the fact that there's an overwhelming amount of Europeans currently. If immigrants were to suddenly come to this land, there may be some Europeans who dislike that and things could get very uncomfortable. But of course this is all up to them, and how they see immigrants coming to Winnipeg as. Hopefully more immigration creates a more positive and diverse community as to a racist community. |
